"पंछी बनूँ उड़ती फिरूँ मस्त गगन में": TCS conversion scandal key accused Nida Khan who mocked Hindu deities and downplayed sexual harassment of Hindu female employees by Muslim men gets bail from Nashik court while co-suspect Danish Shaikh is denied

In a major development regarding the ongoing investigation into workplace harassment and forced religious conversion at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) branch in Nashik, the Nashik Road court granted bail to the primary accused, Nida Khan, alongside co-accused Tausif Khan on June 6, 2026. However, the court took a much stricter stance against another co-accused individual involved in the matter, Danish Shaikh, by completely denying his request for legal relief.

Nida Khan’s arrest took place on May 7, 2026. This came nearly a month and a half after the initial First Information Reports (FIRs) were formally registered against the accused parties for allegedly executing a campaign of sexual harassment and attempted religious conversion targeting Hindu female employees at the Nashik facility. Prior to her apprehension by law enforcement, Khan had attempted to secure protection from arrest, but her anticipatory bail application was flatly rejected by the court.
During the recent hearing, Additional Sessions Judge Kedar Joshi decided to approve Khan's bail application, doing so despite strong and formal opposition from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the probe. Following the court proceedings, public prosecutor Jay Misar spoke to journalists to confirm the development. He noted that the primary medical and legal ground presented by Khan to successfully secure her release on bail was her current state of pregnancy.

Judges deny bail request for Danish Shaikh
While Nida Khan was permitted to leave custody, the situation unfolded very differently for Danish Shaikh. According to official court documents detailing the matter, the judiciary rejected Shaikh's bail application after reviewing the preliminary evidence compiled by the investigators. The court explicitly highlighted that the core accusations leveled against Shaikh appeared exceptionally grave in nature. The presiding judge observed that the physical and digital material currently on the official record showed clear, prima facie involvement of the accused in the alleged offenses.
In explaining the decision to keep Shaikh in custody, the court highlighted several critical risks. The judiciary stated that "considering the nature of punishment, the possibility of tampering with evidence, fleeing from justice, threatening witnesses and emotionally blackmailing them could not be ruled out." Furthermore, the court placed significant weight on the severe emotional and psychological impact that these sustained actions had inflicted upon the victim. The judges also pointed directly to the high level of alleged influence and control that the accused had exercised over the victim prior to his arrest, using these points as the foundational basis for refusing to enlarge Shaikh on bail.
The formal legal case against these individuals is currently being processed at the Deolali Police Station located in Nashik. Law enforcement officials have booked the suspects under the relevant statutory provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with strict sections of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Details from the police report
The official FIR provides a highly detailed timeline of how these events allegedly transpired over a span of nearly four years. According to the police documentation, between July 2022 and February 2026, the trio of Danish Shaikh, Tausif Khan, and Nida Khan systematically worked to hurt the religious sentiments of the complainant. They allegedly achieved this by repeatedly making highly offensive and derogatory remarks regarding Hindu deities.
The specific allegations against Danish Shaikh involve a breach of personal trust. The complainant stated that Shaikh deliberately gained her confidence by promising to marry her in the future. Under the pretense of this marital commitment, he established a continuous physical relationship with her, all while intentionally concealing the fact that he was already a married man.
Simultaneously, Tausif Khan faces severe accusations of exploiting his professional proximity to the victim. The documentation indicates that Tausif actively molested the complainant directly within the corporate workplace and made repeated, coercive demands for sexual favors. To ensure her compliance and silence, Tausif allegedly utilized blackmail, threatening that he would completely expose the details of her private physical relationship with Danish Shaikh to her immediate family members if she refused to cooperate.
The official court order further reveals that Nida Khan worked in tandem with her co-accused to actively force the victim into changing her faith. The group allegedly accomplished this by instilling a deep sense of fear in her and making sure her religious sentiments were consistently insulted. The legal records explicitly note that Nida and the other men involved went so far as to physically provide a traditional burqa to the victim in order to facilitate her formal conversion process.

Alleged actions of Nida Khan explored
According to the comprehensive briefs compiled by the local police and presented directly before the judge, Nida Khan played a highly active, hands-on role in systematically altering the complainant's personal religious beliefs. Investigators detailed that Khan regularly shared targeted Islamic religious material with the victim. This continuous digital and physical stream included specific books, theological videos, YouTube links, and various Instagram links and reels designed to slowly reshape her worldview.
The details transcribed within the court order regarding Danish’s bail hearing further reveal the depth of this conversion attempt. The document notes that Nida Khan personally took the victim's mobile phone and installed a specialized Islamic religious application on it, an action done with the explicit, singular intent of shifting her away from her original religion. Beyond digital influence, Khan is accused of conducting regular, face-to-face religious teaching sessions for the complainant. These sessions allegedly took place from time to time directly at Khan's private residence, where she provided detailed instructions to the victim on how to correctly perform namaz and the specific methods for wearing a traditional hijab and burqa.
During her official interviews with the Special Investigation Team, the complainant explicitly stated that she was pressured to spend hours watching online videos featuring the Pakistani cleric Tariq Jamil. She was also instructed to listen continuously to the speeches of the controversial international preacher Zakir Naik, with the clear purpose of breaking down and influencing her existing faith.
Furthermore, senior police officials are aggressively probing Khan’s international connections, specifically focusing on her documented links to Malaysia. Investigators discovered that Khan had explicitly assured the vulnerable complainant that she would use her connections to help her secure a lucrative corporate job over in Malaysia. The official court order directly corroborates these international angles, referring explicitly to evidence that Danish Shaikh and Tausif were actively planning to send the victim overseas to meet with a specific associate named Imran, who is based in Malaysia.

Additional individuals named in investigation
The scope of this corporate scandal extends well beyond the primary trio. Apart from Nida Khan, Danish Shaikh, and Tausif Attar, law enforcement authorities have rounded up and arrested several other individuals linked to the systematic harassment. The list of arrested employees includes Shafi Bikhan Sheikh, Raza Rafiq Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, and Asif Aftab Ansari.
Among these individuals, Raza Rafiq Memon, who held the professional rank of a team leader within the company, faces specific accusations of using his corporate authority to intimidate subordinate staff. Memon is accused of creating a toxic work environment by routinely making highly obscene and inappropriate remarks directed at his female colleagues.
The fallout at the TCS Nashik branch has resulted in senior employees being named across separate, individual FIRs. These legal complaints involve serious allegations of corporate stalking, unrelenting workplace harassment, and organized attempts at forced religious conversion. Recognizing the systemic failure to protect workers, the police also took the step of arresting Ashwini Chainani, who served as an Operations Manager and was a key member of the company's Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Committee. Chainani faces formal charges for her systemic failure to log, address, or act upon the explicit workplace harassment complaints brought forward by the female employees.
