Shockwaves reverberate through Maharashtra as a 1,500-page Nashik TCS chargesheet implicates AIMIM leaders Matin Patel and Imtiaz Jaleel for harboring absconding suspect Nida Khan amid explosive corporate forced conversion claims

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Nashik City Police reached a significant milestone last month by submitting its initial chargesheet. This detailed document targets a deeply troubling scandal involving sexual harassment and forced religious conversion at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) office in Nashik. The chargesheet names several key individuals: Danish Ijaz Sheikh, Tausif Bilal Attar, Nida Ejaz Khan, and Matin Majeed Patel.

Matin Patel is a local corporator representing the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). He is heavily implicated for allegedly providing shelter to Nida Khan while she was actively fleeing from law enforcement. Throughout the initial stages of the investigation, Patel frequently brought up the name of Syed Imtiaz Jaleel, a former Lok Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) belonging to his own political party.
This primary chargesheet, spanning an exhaustive 1,500 pages, was officially submitted by the Nashik police on May 22nd. It marks the first major legal step across nine distinct First Information Reports (FIRs) currently registered in connection with this sweeping case. The first FIR was formally filed at the Deolali Camp Police Station under the stringent Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Beyond those specific statutes, the legal accusations brought forward also include serious counts of rape and intentional violation of religious sentiments.
Shelter Provided to an Absconding Suspect
The investigation reveals a coordinated effort to keep suspects away from the police. According to the official documentation, “While the search for accused Nida Ejaz Khan was in progress, it was revealed through confidential information and technical analysis that Matin Majid Patel had provided shelter to the accused to help her evade arrest,” reported The Indian Express. Law enforcement records show that Patel was fully aware that a Nashik court had already rejected Nida Khan's application for anticipatory bail.
The paperwork details exactly what happened when investigators confronted the politician. When Patel was called in for questioning at the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Crime Branch office and explicitly asked about Nida’s whereabouts, he deflected the question, stating, “Imtiaz Jalil Sahib ko poochna padega (Will have to ask Imtiaz Jaleel).” Commenting on the situation later, Jaleel dismissed the unfolding police actions, claiming they were merely the byproduct of a "media trial" and heavy "political pressure."
Despite the initial resistance, Patel eventually cooperated under pressure and guided the authorities directly to the hiding spot. A targeted search operation was then executed in the Naregaon-Kausar CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation) locality situated within Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. There, police discovered Nida Khan alongside her parents, brother, and aunt. Following her discovery, she was promptly handed over to the custody of the Nashik Police SIT.
In the wake of these events, municipal authorities took swift administrative action, completely demolishing a house and two additional properties directly linked to Matin Patel. Investigators subsequently uncovered that one of these properties actually belonged to an individual named Hanif Khan, who had reportedly granted Patel full access to the premises. The Nashik police have since booked Hanif Khan and brought him in for detailed interrogation.
Former MP Imtiaz Jaleel openly acknowledged meeting with Nida’s family members during the exact timeframe she was actively evading capture by the police. Speaking on April 21st, he publicly stated that he had met with the young woman, her mother, and her aunt, adding that he fully intended to stand by them. Furthermore, Jaleel took a public stance by spearheading a protest rally against the municipal demolitions. “We will fight this legally. I assure you that the AIMIM will build Matin a better and bigger place at the same location,” he promised the crowd.
Defending his actions to the press, Jaleel maintained an unyielding stance regarding the investigation. “I am ready to face any inquiry. I have already acknowledged that I met the girl’s family, and I will continue to fight for what I believe is right,” he told the aforementioned media house. Meanwhile, the Nashik police have initiated an extensive probe to map out exactly who Matin Patel was communicating with while Nida Khan was at large. Detectives have gathered his official voice samples, and a comprehensive forensic examination of call recordings from his mobile phone is currently underway.
Details Revealed Within the 1,500-Page Chargesheet
The formal chargesheet details a long history of alleged abuse and manipulation. According to the text, the complainant in the primary FIR stated that her mistreatment began as far back as July 2022, when she first met Danish Ijaz Sheikh at Khandoba Hill. She stated that he kissed her completely against her will during that initial encounter. The exploitation escalated significantly in August 2024, when the two traveled to Trimbak Road on a motorbike, where he allegedly forced himself on her. The victim stated that Danish repeatedly exploited her sexually across multiple locations under the false pretense of a future marriage.
Alongside the physical abuse, the chargesheet outlines a continuous pattern of financial exploitation. The documents state that Danish regularly pressured the complainant into financing his lifestyle, forcing her to foot the bill for expensive meals, resort accommodation, and frequent visits to local cafés. She was also pressured into buying him high-end, luxury gifts such as watches and bags.
Danish allegedly made continuous, direct demands for cash sums, which included:
- Rs 10,000 intended for a house
- Rs 5,000 to fund a 40-day trip
- Rs 5,000 on a monthly basis for a specialized savings plan
In total, the female employee estimates that she spent well over Rs 2.2 lakh directly on him.
The legal paperwork further explains that Nida Khan acted systematically under the explicit instructions of both Danish and Tausif. She allegedly played a central, hands-on role in introducing the complainant to Islamic doctrines. Nida encouraged the woman to memorize Islamic prayers, personally downloaded the "Muslim Pro" application onto the victim's personal smartphone, and regularly sent her instructional Islamic videos. Together, Nida and Danish allegedly forced the woman to recite Al Fatiha alongside several other religious prayers.
Eventually, Nida pressured her to officially and legally convert to Islam. The victim revealed to investigators that Nida resorted to overt intimidation during this process, threatening to “send you and your family to Jahannum (hell)” if she refused to complete the religious conversion process.
According to the findings in the chargesheet, Nida became drastically more aggressive with her religious indoctrination after the complainant was made to recite the Kalma on June 6th, 2025. Nida frequently took the victim to her private residence immediately after office hours. Once inside, the complainant was reportedly forced to wear a traditional burqa, taught the precise way to wear a hijab, and given explicit instructions to perform namaz. These activities allegedly occurred continuously between June 2025 and January 2026.
The documents state that Nida’s immediate family members were fully aware of these ongoing activities. In fact, Nida's mother openly discussed future plans to send the complainant to a madrasa for further education. Furthermore, the chargesheet states that Tausif Bilal Attar was completely aware of the complicated relationship between the complainant and Danish, and he intentionally leveraged this knowledge to coerce the victim into having a sexual relationship with him as well.

Demands for a Wider Political Investigation
The revelations have sparked intense political reactions and allegations from state officials. “Nida Khan was kept in hiding in my constituency, Sambhajinagar, for 43 days. A corporator of AIMIM has helped her hide. This is a well-thought-out conspiracy. The accused is just a pawn. Many big figures are behind this racket. Imtiaz Jaleel is also involved in this,” charged Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Sanjay Shirsat shortly after her arrest in May.
The Minister did not hold back in his assessment of the political organization's involvement. “AIMIM is trying to encourage religious conversions and cheat girls. They have a network across Maharashtra. I will request the chief minister to order an inquiry through the SIT to expose the mastermind,” Shirsat expressed. He formally called on law enforcement to deeply investigate the extent of both the AIMIM party's and Jaleel’s involvement in the broader scandal.
“The incident came to light in March. We don’t know where Khan was all these days, but she was held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. She was hiding in a slum where illegal activities take place. AIMIM supported her. Jaleel and his aides should be investigated. When he is in police custody, he will spill all the other names,” the minister declared publicly.
Shirsat continued to directly point out the former Member of Parliament's alleged logistical role in the matter. “Imtiaz Jaleel supported this girl and brought her from Nashik to Sambhajinagar, and she and four other members of her family were staying at his corporator’s home. Imtiaz Jaleel is the main culprit. There could be other people up the chain than Imtiaz Jaleel, too.”
The Minister concluded his public statement by suggesting the existence of an even larger network operating behind the scenes. “AIMIM party could be a pawn too. Someone could be behind them as well. The police are going to bring all these things to light during their investigation,” he assured the public.
This massive controversy initially erupted within the TCS corporate office in Nashik when multiple Hindu female employees courageously stepped forward to report their experiences. They detailed a toxic environment involving sexual harassment and forced religious conversions driven by their Muslim team leaders. Despite the gravity of the situation, their repeated internal complaints were entirely dismissed and ignored by the company's Internal Complaints Committee, operating under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act. The grim reality of the corporate workplace environment was only fully uncovered after female police officers successfully conducted a covert, undercover investigation directly inside the facility.
