Navi Mumbai: Hindu Woman Killed, Chopped into Pieces and Stuffed in a Suitcase by Lover Nizam After She Finds He Was Already Married, Had a Child

In a chilling echo of the Shraddha Walkar case that shook Delhi, another gruesome tragedy has unfolded in Mumbai, involving a similar act of betrayal and brutality. Nizam, a taxi driver, ensnared 27-year-old Poonam Kshirsagar in what has been described as Love Jihad, only to later murder her in a horrific manner. Poonam Kshirsagar was brutally dismembered, her remains packed into a suitcase and discarded in the forest of Uran, Navi Mumbai. This savage act has sparked outrage and grief among the local Hindu community, leading to heightened tensions and calls for justice.

The local community's reaction was one of shock and horror as they grappled with the brutality of the crime. Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha visited the distraught family of the victim, offering his condolences and vowing to ensure that stringent measures are taken against the perpetrator. He emphasized the government's commitment to swiftly bringing the accused to justice, reflecting the community's demand for accountability and the prevention of such heinous crimes in the future.

Reports from CNN News 18 indicate that Poonam had been in a relationship with Nizam for four years before her tragic demise. Unbeknownst to her, Nizam was already married and a father, a truth he had concealed throughout their relationship. The revelation of this deceit played a crucial role in the events leading to her brutal murder.

This incident not only revisits the deep-seated issues of trust and betrayal but also highlights the societal and communal tensions that such acts of violence exacerbate. The community continues to reel under the impact of this shocking crime, as they come together to mourn and seek justice for Poonam.

Poonam Kshirsagar, a young woman from Sathe Nagar in Mankhurd, led a routine life, commuting to her job at Sandhurst Road. Her daily journey took a dark turn when she encountered Nizam, also known as Chand, a local taxi driver. Nizam deceitfully drew Poonam into a relationship, a bond that she believed was genuine. Tragically, this trust led to her abduction from her home on the 18th of April.

On that fateful day, Nizam, under the guise of a routine trip, drove Poonam away from the safety of Mankhurd to the remote area of Khadavli in the Kalyan district. This journey marked a sinister turn in Poonam’s life, as it was the last trip she would ever make. Nizam’s intentions were far from innocent, culminating in an act of unimaginable cruelty.

In a secluded location in Kalyan, Nizam brutally ended Poonam’s life. In an attempt to conceal his heinous act, he dismembered her body, placed the remains in a suitcase, and discarded it in the dense forests of Uran. The discovery of Poonam’s body in a suitcase, mere days later, sent shockwaves through the community, stirring profound sadness and anger among the local residents.

The horrifying end of Poonam’s life has left her family, friends, and community grappling with grief and seeking justice for the cruel betrayal and brutal murder she suffered at the hands of someone she once trusted. The sorrow of her untimely departure is palpable, with a collective mourning for a life cut tragically short.

Poonam Kshirsagar's life came to a tragic end on April 19, when she was allegedly murdered and her body carelessly left in the secluded area of Talekhar along the Chirner-Kharpada route in Uran. It was only days later, on April 25, that the horrifying reality came to light when locals stumbled upon her decomposed remains. The shock and horror of such a discovery rippled through the community, underscoring a grim scene of neglect and brutality.

The police, acting on the clues and a missing person report filed by Poonam’s distraught family on the day of her disappearance, were quick to confirm the identity of the remains as hers. This confirmation deepened the anguish of her family and friends, who had been clinging to hope since her sudden disappearance.

Nazim, originally from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, was swiftly apprehended by law enforcement. His arrest brought a small measure of relief to those demanding justice for Poonam, though the grief of her untimely loss continued to weigh heavily on their hearts.

The incident that led to Poonam’s death began unfolding after she uncovered the truth about Nazim’s life—that he was already married and had a child. This revelation led to a heated phone conversation between Poonam and Nazim, a discussion that tragically escalated, culminating in her murder. The betrayal and deception at the heart of their relationship exposed a fatal breach of trust, leading to a confrontation with deadly consequences. The community, while grappling with the shock and sadness, remains united in their grief and their call for justice for Poonam, whose life was taken too soon under such tragic circumstances.

In the wake of Poonam Kshirsagar's brutal murder, her family and the broader Hindu community have expressed profound anger and labeled the crime as love jihad. This sentiment has intensified the communal tensions and grief surrounding her death. The local population, fueled by a mix of sorrow and outrage, gathered en masse around the police station. They vociferously demanded that the authorities take stringent action not only against Nizam, the primary accused, but also against any accomplices who might have been involved in this heinous act.

Maharashtra Cabinet Minister and prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, after a heartfelt meeting with Poonam’s grieving family, recounted the chilling details of her last days. He stated that Nizam had deceitfully taken her to Kalyan under false pretenses, where he cruelly ended her life and disposed of her body in a desolate location.

Minister Lodha, who also holds the position of Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister, highlighted that this tragic event is not an isolated incident but the third of its kind in Mumbai. He raised concerns about the broader issues of illegal immigration, specifically pointing to the presence of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in the city, which he suggested needed urgent attention to prevent further such tragedies.

Furthermore, Minister Lodha committed to ensuring that justice is served for Poonam and underscored the urgency of the situation. He issued a stark warning that if decisive action was not taken against the perpetrator within 24 hours, it could lead to significant unrest within the community.

During a deeply emotional meeting with the family of Poonam Kshirsagar, Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha offered his condolences and assured them of his commitment to justice. He reiterated the severity of the situation, emphasizing that strict measures would be taken against the accused involved in this tragic case. Lodha highlighted that this brutal crime marks the third incident labeled as love jihad in Mumbai, signaling a disturbing trend that the police and authorities cannot afford to overlook.

Minister Lodha expressed his concerns about the safety of Hindu girls in the city, pointing to the need for stringent controls and arrangements concerning the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis living illegally in Mumbai. He stressed that without such measures, the safety of young women could be compromised, making it perilous for them to even step out of their homes. He starkly warned that if the authorities did not act decisively against the accused within 24 hours, it would prompt a fierce agitation from the community, driven by the urgent demand for safety and justice.

In a similar vein, former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya showed his support by visiting the bereaved family. Somaiya informed them of his discussions with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Mumbai Special Police Commissioner Deven Bharti regarding the case. He echoed Lodha's sentiments about the necessity for stringent action, assuring the family that the authorities are poised to take robust action against those responsible for the murder of Poonam.

These meetings underscore the community’s and leaders' collective resolve to confront and eradicate the factors contributing to such horrific acts, ensuring that justice prevails and similar tragedies are prevented in the future. The involvement of high-profile politicians and their promises of swift justice bring a semblance of hope to the community, amidst the grief and outcry for action.
