Fatal Promises: Occultist Arrested for Poisoning Three Victims Under Pretext of Wealth Rituals

In a chilling revelation that has sent shockwaves through the capital, a deceptive occultist has been apprehended for the cold-blooded murder of two men and a woman. The suspect allegedly lured his victims with the promise of a supernatural windfall, only to deliver a fatal dose of poison. This grim resolution to a baffling mystery comes with the arrest of Kamruddin, a man known to many as "Baba." Operating out of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh, Kamruddin was taken into custody on Wednesday, February 11th, following the discovery of three bodies inside a vehicle abandoned on the Peeragarhi flyover in Outer Delhi.

The tragedy unfolded when a white automobile was spotted in Peeragarhi with three occupants who appeared to be unconscious. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, it was quickly determined that all three individuals had passed away. The victims were identified as 40-year-old Laxmi and 42-year-old Shiv Naresh, who were positioned in the back seat, and 76-year-old Randhir, who was found in the driver’s seat.

“The case came to light on 8th February (Sunday) when a PCR (Police Control Room) call was received at Paschim Vihar East Police Station regarding three people, including a woman lying unconscious inside a car,” informed Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Sachin Sharma.

As investigators began their grim work, the scene inside the car painted a confusing picture of the victims' final moments. “All three were shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead. During inspection of the vehicle, police recovered liquor bottles, cold drink bottles, empty glasses, mobile phones, cash, helmets, jackets, Aadhaar Cards and other personal belongings and documents,” Sharma stated.

The Path to Solving the Crime

While initial assessments might have suggested a different cause of death, the authorities launched a full-scale investigation after family members expressed deep skepticism regarding the circumstances. There were no immediate physical signs of external trauma or injury on the bodies, and suicide was quickly ruled out by the investigators. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the case was elevated to a top priority.

Randhir and Shiv Naresh were known to be real estate brokers operating in the Baprola area of Najafgarh. While the two men were well-acquainted, their families noted that they had no knowledge of Laxmi. However, Laxmi’s own family provided the breakthrough the police needed, revealing that she had recently been in close contact with a self-proclaimed "godman."

A meticulous technical investigation followed, utilizing location tracking and call data records. The evidence pointed directly to Kamruddin, who had been in frequent communication with the deceased. He had reportedly promised them vast financial benefits through the performance of specific rituals. Investigators traced their movements to Loni in Ghaziabad just one day before the murders. They returned to the same location on the day they died, maintaining constant contact with the suspect.

The investigation took a pivotal turn when police discovered that a fourth individual had joined the group during their return journey to Delhi. “Further analysis established that the person was Kamruddin, who had boarded the vehicle in Loni and later abandoned it at the place where it was found,” Sharma added.

A Deadly Deception: How the Victims Were Targeted

Following his arrest, Kamruddin initially attempted to mislead the police with vague and inconsistent answers. However, under sustained interrogation, he eventually confessed to the crime. He revealed that an accomplice named Salim had introduced him to Laxmi approximately two months prior. Laxmi, believing in the occultist's powers, later introduced Randhir and Shiv Naresh to him.

Kamruddin manipulated the trio into believing they could participate in a "Dhanvarsha" (rain of wealth) ritual. To facilitate this ceremony, he instructed them to bring Rs 2 lakh in cash, along with alcohol and soft drinks. It was during this "ritual" that Kamruddin distributed poisoned sweets, known as laddus, to the unsuspecting victims.

“He prepared laddoos mixed with poison and accompanied the three in their car. During the journey, he persuaded them to consume liquor, cold drinks and sweets. After they started feeling unwell and eventually lost consciousness, he took the cash and fled, abandoning the vehicle,” Sharma outlined.

The official further noted that this was not a crime of passion, but a calculated act of greed. “He was apprehended following a detailed technical and field investigation. He was involved in a well-planned conspiracy to eliminate the victims and rob them of cash and valuables,” the official mentioned.

A Criminal History Masked by Mysticism

The police investigation has pulled back the curtain on Kamruddin’s dark past. Operating occult centers in both Loni and Firozabad, he specialized in enticing vulnerable people with the allure of quick wealth. His method was consistent: he would build a rapport with his victims, gain their absolute trust, and then use poisoned laddus to incapacitate or kill them before making off with their money and jewelry.

“He lured people by making promises of quick money, claiming that he could multiply wealth through occult practices and tantric rituals. He projected himself as someone who could double or even triple money through tantrik methods,” revealed a police officer.

Kamruddin is a habitual offender with a history of extreme violence. “He was earlier booked in 2014 under sections 143, 363 and 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Raja Khera Police Station in Dholpur in Rajasthan. He was also named in another First Information Report (FIR) in 2025 under sections 103(1) and 123 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Makhkhanpur Police Station in Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh,” Sharma underscored.

Reflecting on the suspect's dangerous history, Sharma remarked, “We are now examining whether he may have targeted others using similar tactics.”

As the Paschim Vihar East Police Station moves forward with the case, a broader probe is underway to locate any other potential collaborators. Forensic experts are currently working to identify the specific poison used in the sweets. Perhaps most disturbingly, police noted that several of Kamruddin’s previous associates and clients have either vanished without a trace or died under highly suspicious circumstances.
