A 14-Year Ordeal: Missing Woman Rescued and Returns to Her Roots

In a case that has deeply moved the local community, a Hindu woman who vanished from Aligarh in 2012 has finally been found. On the night of Friday, March 6, she was brought safely to the police in Mathura, marking the end of more than a decade of disappearance. Immediately after her rescue, she filed a formal complaint at the Govind Nagar Police Station against a man identified as Munna Ansari. Her testimony describes a harrowing journey of "kidnapping, rape, forced religious conversion, and years of mental and physical abuse."

A Decade of Captivity and Coercion

The details emerging from the investigation paint a grim picture of the victim's life over the last 14 years. The woman stated that she was held against her will for a prolonged period, during which she was subjected to extreme trauma. According to her statement, the accused allegedly used drugs to keep her under his control and "raped her multiple times."

The abuse was not only physical but also involved criminal exploitation. The victim revealed to the authorities that "the accused also tried to involve her in the drug trafficking and threatened to kill her if she resisted." This constant threat to her life ensured her silence and compliance for over a decade.

The complaint further details a systematic attempt to strip the woman of her identity. She informed the police that she faced immense pressure to change her faith. She recounted being "pressured to convert to Islam and forced to offer prayers." Whenever she tried to stand her ground or refuse these demands, the consequences were violent, as "she was beaten whenever she refused." In a particularly symbolic act of cruelty, she noted that "her locket of Lord Shri Ram was broken, and even she was forced to eat beef."

The Origins of the 2012 Abduction

The roots of this tragedy trace back to 2012, when the victim was a young student at the Kalyan Karoti Institute. It was during this time that she first encountered Munna Ansari. The victim explains that the meeting was built on a foundation of lies; "Ansari, who identified himself by a Hindu name and tried to hide his Muslim identity," spent time befriending her and gaining her trust.

The situation turned into a nightmare during a routine day of her education. "One day, while she was on her way to attend college, Ansari kidnapped her and took her to Kishanganj in Bihar." Following her disappearance, her family and authorities were left in the dark, though a "missing person’s report was registered at the police station in Mathura’s Govind Nagar area" at the time.

A Modern Rescue Through Social Media

After fourteen years of isolation, a small window of opportunity opened through technology. The victim managed to access Facebook Messenger, which she used to reach out for help. She contacted Dr. AP Singh, a Supreme Court advocate, and Rajwardhan Singh, the national president of the Maharana Pratap Sena.

The rescue mission was not instantaneous; it required careful planning and persistence. "It took nearly a month to locate and free her." Once she was safely away from her captor, the two leaders accompanied her to the Mathura police station to ensure a formal legal process began immediately.

Upon arriving at the station, the woman was overwhelmed with emotion. She shared that "she feels she has finally come out of 14 years of captivity." Despite the trauma, her resolve for accountability is clear. "She said she now wants justice and strict action against the accused." Furthermore, she has "expressed her wish to return to Hinduism," reclaiming the identity she was forced to abandon. The local police have confirmed that they "have started investigating the case, and further steps will be taken based on the complaint and evidence."
