"There's nothing heroic about suicide bombers. They're mostly just dumb, brainwashed kids, stoned out of their minds": Russia detains a IS Muslim preparing terrorism against India’s ruling circles over Alleged Blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad

According to FSB, the man was recruited as a suicide bomber by one of the IS leaders “in the period from April to June 2022, while on the territory of the Republic of Turkey”

“Indeed, those who malign Allah and his messenger, Allah has cursed them in this world and the hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating punishment. And those who malign believing men and believing women undeservedly, bear the guilt of slander and obvious sin. O prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their veils close around them. That will be better, so that they may be recognized and not molested. Allah is always forgiving, and merciful. If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and the alarmists in the city do not stop, we will indeed urge you on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it only for a little while. Cursed, they will be seized wherever they are found and killed with a slaughter.” (Qur’an 33:57-61)

Abu ‘Afak was a poet who was over one hundred years old and had mocked Muhammad in his verses. Muhammad asked his companions: “Who will avenge me on this scoundrel?” One of them murdered Abu ‘Afak in his sleep. Likewise, another poet who mocked him: was the poetess ‘Asma bint Marwan. Muhammad on another occasion cried out, “Will no one rid me of this daughter of Marwan?” One of Muhammad’s companions, ‘Umayr ibn ‘Adi, went to her house that night, where he found her sleeping next to her children. The youngest, a nursing babe, was in her arms. But that didn’t stop ‘Umayr from murdering her and the baby as well. Muhammad commended him: “You have done a great service to Allah and His Messenger, ‘Umayr!” (Ibn Ishaq, 674-676)

Then there was Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf, another poet whose crime was mocking Muhammad. Muhammad again asked his companions: “Who is willing to kill Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?” One of the companions, Muhammad bin Maslama, answered, “O Allah’s Apostle! Would you like that I kill him?” When Muhammad said that he would, Muhammad bin Maslama said, “Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab).” Muhammad responded: “You may say it.” Muhammad bin Maslama duly lied to Ka’b, luring him into his trap, and murdered him. Russia detains IS bomber planning to target ‘ruling’ party politician over Prophet remarks

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) Monday claimed it had detained an alleged Islamic State (IS) suicide bomber who was planning to fly to India to target a key Indian politician from the ruling party over alleged insults to Prophet Mohammed.

The man is said to be the national of a Central Asian country who was recruited in Turkey and then entered Russia.

“The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation on the territory of Russia identified and detained a member of the international terrorist organization “Islamic State” banned in Russia, a native of a country in the Central Asian region, who planned to commit a terrorist act by self-detonation against one of the representatives ruling circles of India,” the FSB said in a statement.

According to FSB, the man was recruited as a suicide bomber by one of the IS leaders “in the period from April to June 2022, while on the territory of the Republic of Turkey”.

“His indoctrination was carried out remotely through the accounts of the messenger “Telegram” and during personal meetings in Istanbul by a representative of the terrorist organization. As a result, the terrorist took an oath of allegiance to the Amir of ISIS. After that, he was given the task of leaving for the territory of Russia, completing the necessary documents, and flying to India to commit a terrorist act,” added the FSB statement.

Russian news agency TASS reported the FSB has also released a video where the suspected terrorist has confessed: “that he was preparing an act of terrorism against a member of India’s ruling circles for insulting the Prophet Muhammad”.

According to TASS, the detainee said in the video that he swore allegiance to the IS Amir in April 2022 and underwent special training, after which he flew to Russia, from where he was to travel to India. “I was supposed to be given things there to commit a terrorist attack at the behest of the IS for insulting the Prophet Muhammad,” said the man in the video.

The reason cited by the suspected suicide bomber to travel to India to commit a terrorist act is a likely reference to BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s allegedly objectionable remarks against the Prophet during a TV debate. Sources in the Indian security establishment said they did not yet have the information on who the suspected bomber was going to target in India….

Earlier, the ISKP had released a 50-page document on the issue with pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi petting a cow. The document had called for attacks on India and against Indian interests. The ISKP bulletin has videos of Nupur Sharma’s controversial statement, footage of bulldozers demolishing houses of protestors apart from those of Modi, and other issues.

Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) too recently issued a warning of carrying out ‘suicide bombings’ in DelhiMumbai, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat in a bid to avenge the insult to the Prophet.
