In a shocking honor killing case that rocked Uttar Pradesh, Bigan Ansari was arrested for murdering his teenage daughter Shabba over her affair with a Hindu boy, after her dismembered body was found inside a train box in Lucknow

A deeply disturbing investigation has come to an end in Uttar Pradesh. Law enforcement authorities have successfully resolved the mysterious and horrific case involving a young girl's severed body, which was discovered packed inside a metal box on a train at Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar railway station.
The identity of the young victim has been officially established. She was 16-year-old Shabba, a resident of Jaypur Tola in Pipraghat Mustakil village, located under the jurisdiction of the Sevarhi police station in the Kushinagar district. In a tragic twist, the investigation revealed that her own father was the one who ended her life, driven by anger because she was talking to a Hindu youth.

The Discovery at Gomti Nagar Station
The grim sequence of events came to light on the morning of 17 May. Cleaning staff working at the Gomti Nagar station noticed a highly suspicious box and a bag left unattended in Coach S-1 of Train No. 15114. Recognizing that something was wrong, the staff immediately informed the local authorities, who then informed the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
When the railway police forced open the locked metal box, they made a gruesome discovery. Inside was the torso of a young girl wrapped tightly in a sack. Her hands and feet had been packed separately using plastic sheets, and her head was entirely missing.

A History of Family Tension
Initial investigations conducted by the GRP tracked the movement of the cargo, finding that the box had been loaded onto the train at Tamkuhi Road station the previous evening. A joint probing operation by the Kushinagar police, Sevarhi police, GRP, and RPF quickly began to uncover the full horror of what had transpired.
According to official police reports, the father, Bigan Ansari, who works as an e-rickshaw driver, was harboring deep resentment and was furious over the love marriages of his two elder daughters. His eldest daughters, Khushboo (24) and Nargis (20), had both married Hindu men against his wishes. Family relations had completely broken down over these relationships, as one daughter had eloped while the other reportedly went missing.
When Bigan began to suspect that his youngest daughter, Shabba, was also in a relationship with a Hindu boy, the domestic situation turned violent. He allegedly beat her severely in an attempt to control her behavior. Bigan had asked her to stay away from him, but despite the physical abuse and strict warnings, Shabba remained in contact with the young man. This persistent contact angered Bigan, who felt he was being insulted, and he became consumed by the fear that she will also marry the Hindu man. The psychological toll on the teenager was severe; the girl had even attempted suicide by hanging a few days earlier.

Execution of the Crime and Arrests
Enraged by what he perceived as a defiance of his authority and determined to “save family honour”, Bigan conspired to kill her. To execute the plan, he involved his sister, Noorjahan, and his brother-in-law, Moizbullah Ansari, in the crime.
On the evening of 16 May, Bigan cleared the house by sending his wife and his two young sons (aged 9 and 6) to a relative’s house. With the home empty, the three accused murdered Shabba inside their home. To hide the crime, they chopped her body into six pieces with a sharp weapon. The execution was highly premeditated; the trio had bought a new box and a sickle for the crime.
To ensure the body could not be easily identified, the head was cut into smaller pieces and thrown into a pond in Sirgaon village to prevent identification. The remaining torso and limbs were wrapped in old clothes and plastic sheets, and packed securely into the newly purchased box.
The accused then travelled by e-rickshaw to the Tamkuhi Road railway station, carrying the heavy box. They boarded the Chhapra-Gomti Nagar Express and placed the box in Coach S-1. To avoid suspicion on the platform, they then got off the train through a different coach and slipped away. When Bigan returned home, his mother asked him about Shabba, and he told her that his daughter had gone to her mother’s house.
The cover-up quickly unraveled through modern surveillance. By scanning CCTV footage from nearly 800 cameras along the railway line and surrounding transit routes, police teams successfully zeroed in on the movements of the trio from Jaypur Tola.
All three were arrested in Kushinagar on Wednesday. During sustained interrogation by investigators, Bigan Ansari confessed to the crime and led police to the specific pond in Sirgaon village. Police divers were deployed to the site and successfully recovered parts of the head and the alleged murder weapon.

Current Legal Status and Village Suspicions
The Kushinagar police have officially confirmed the arrests of Bigan Ansari, his sister Noorjahan, and his brother-in-law Moizbullah Ansari. Authorities stated that a formal case has been registered at the GRP Charbagh station in Lucknow under relevant sections of the law, and further legal action is underway. The accused have been booked for murder, destruction of evidence, and other related criminal charges.
As the investigation widens, details about Bigan's past have emerged. Police sources added that Bigan had lived abroad for several years before returning around five years ago. His return and his strict behavior have now cast a dark shadow over past family events. Dark rumors in the village now suggest he may have been involved in the disappearance of his eldest daughter as well, though law enforcement authorities emphasize that this specific angle is yet to be officially probed.
