"Nation before affiliation": In a resolute stance symbolizing national unity, Indian brand boAt ends association with Khalistan sympathizer Shubh, canceling sponsorship for his upcoming tour, aligning with BJYM's opposition to Khalistani elements in India

In a display of profound patriotism, the renowned consumer electronic brand, boAt, has voluntarily ceased its sponsorship for the imminent tour of Shubneet Singh, popularly known as Shubh, a singer based in Canada and a known supporter of the Khalistan movement. This notable event unfolded on Tuesday, September 19, echoing boAt's commitment to its Indian roots above all.

Earlier this year, Shubh had reportedly disseminated a manipulated map of India in an act to manifest solidarity with the Khalistani terrorists. This act did not sit well with a brand that prides itself on its Indian identity, prompting them to sever ties with the artist who was scheduled to perform from the 23rd to the 25th of September at Cordelia Cruises, Mumbai.
In a statement released on X (formerly Twitter), boAt delineated their stance, reiterating their essence as a quintessentially Indian brand. The official statement from the company reverberated its deep-rooted commitment to the Indian community, “At boAt, while our commitment to the incredible music community runs deep, we are first & foremost a true Indian brand. Therefore, when we became aware of the remarks made by artist Shubh earlier this year, we chose to withdraw our sponsorship from the tour.”

The brand remains resolute in fostering a thriving musical culture in India, vowing to continue their support for budding artists in the country, despite this setback. This move is seen as a robust stand against any form of support to those endorsing separatist ideologies, showcasing the brand's devotion to promoting unity and harmony through music in India.
The ongoing turmoil surrounding Canada-based singer Shubh has escalated further with the intervention of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP. On September 16, ahead of Shubh's proposed event, members of BJYM took to the streets to express their unequivocal dissent by removing posters promoting the singer's forthcoming event.
BJYM vehemently opposes Shubh’s concert, urging organisers to abandon the planned performances, emphasizing that a Khalistan supporter has no place in India, a nation that stands united against separatist ideologies. This protest is accentuated by a memorandum submitted to the police by the BJYM President, Tajinder Singh Tiwana, who demanded lawful action against Shubh for spreading divisive content online.
|
Within the memorandum, Tiwana pointed out Shubh’s reprehensible act of sharing a doctored map of India on his Instagram story dated March 23, 2023. This distorted representation excluded critical regions such as Jammu-Kashmir and the North-Eastern states, clearly delineating his support for the Khalistani movement.
Tiwana firmly declared, “There is no space for Khalistanis who are the enemy of integrity and unity of India. We won’t let Canadian singer Shubh perform on the auspicious land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mumbai…If no proper action is taken then the organisers will have to face our opposition.”
|
It should be noted that Shubh’s contentious stance is not a recent development. Earlier this year, he had publicly endorsed Khalistani elements during the period when the Punjab Police were actively pursuing the Khalistani terrorist, Amritpal Singh. He exhibited his allegiance by sharing another manipulated map, where notable North Indian states, including Punjab and J&K, were conspicuously absent, thereby starkly outlining his separatist inclinations.
As the scenario unfolds, it is apparent that the Indian community stands united in its opposition to those who seek to undermine its integrity and unity, vehemently rejecting any form of support to separatist factions.
