"एटा आमार सिंहासन": In absolute denial after a humiliating election defeat shattered her fifteen-year West Bengal fortress, an embarrassed Mamata Banerjee cries foul, desperately claiming the BJP looted 100 seats to mask the TMC's epic downfall

In what can only be described as a landmark political earthquake, the BJP has successfully broken through the TMC’s iron grip on West Bengal.

Mamata Banerjee Rejects Verdict: TMC Leader Cries Foul, Stating "BJP Looted 100 Seats" Post Bengal Defeat

Following a genuinely shocking election result in West Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief and outgoing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has completely rejected the public mandate. Instead of conceding defeat in the wake of this massive upset, she has alleged widespread cheating and voter manipulation. According to her, both the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worked together to steal the election, claiming they engineered the "loot" of more than 100 constituencies.

While speaking directly to journalists in Kolkata, Banerjee was visibly upset and launched a harsh verbal assault on the institutions involved. She clearly expressed her anger, stating verbatim, “More than 100 seats, the BJP looted. The Election Commission is the BJP’s commission.” She went on to explain that her party had formally raised multiple complaints with high-ranking officials, which included directly reaching out to the Chief Electoral Officer, Manoj Agrawal. However, she noted with deep frustration that absolutely no corrective measures were taken to address their concerns. Casting heavy doubt on whether the final outcome was actually legitimate, she asked the press, “Do you think this is a victory? It is an immoral victory, not a moral victory.”

Taking her accusations even further, the TMC leader pointed fingers at the ECI, the deployed central security forces, and the highest levels of the country's national leadership, accusing them of forming a secret alliance against her. With unwavering defiance as her party absorbed its heaviest electoral defeat in over a decade and a half, she declared, “Whatever the Election Commission has done, along with the Central Forces and the PM & Home Minister, is totally illegal. It is loot, loot, loot. We will bounce back,”

Saffron Party Conquers Bengal

In what can only be described as a landmark political earthquake, the BJP has successfully broken through the TMC’s iron grip on West Bengal. For the very first time in the state's rich history, the BJP is standing ready to form the state government entirely on its own. This massive scale of victory has completely redrawn the political map of Bengal, bringing a sudden and dramatic end to Banerjee’s continuous 15-year stay in power.

Reacting to this monumental shift, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the public's decision as a massive win for democracy and sound leadership. Sharing his excitement on the social media platform X, he posted, “The Lotus blooms in West Bengal! The 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections will be remembered forever. People’s power has prevailed, and the BJP’s politics of good governance has triumphed,”

Trinamool Doubts the Tallying Method

Even as the votes were actively being counted, the TMC refused to back down, continually casting shadows of doubt over the entire election process. Releasing a formal statement on X, the party claimed that the Election Commission had completely lost its objectivity, accusing the body of having “abandoned even the faintest pretence of neutrality,” The TMC argued that the ECI was intentionally slowing down the counting process and unfairly holding back official victory certificates in areas where the final results were supposedly already obvious.

To support these claims, the party listed several specific constituencies where they felt wronged, including Diamond Harbour, Magrahat Purba, Magrahat Paschim, Kulpi, Raidighi, Patharpratima, Basanti, Bardhaman Uttar, and Sitai. Adding physical weight to these allegations, Banerjee personally traveled to the Sakhawat Memorial counting hall located in Kolkata. There, she repeated her accusations that vote counting had been forcefully stopped in various centers and openly blamed the central armed forces of showing clear bias against her party.

Official Figures Reveal Stark Reality

Despite the heavy accusations thrown by the TMC leadership, the officially published numbers paint a very clear, one-sided picture. According to authentic data released by the Election Commission of India recorded exactly at 8:02 pm, the BJP had already secured a confirmed win in 113 seats and was actively leading in another 93. This brought their total projected tally to a commanding 206 seats out of the entire 294-member state assembly.

Looking at the other side of the aisle, the numbers were incredibly different. The TMC had only managed to actually win 46 seats, while maintaining leads in 35 others. This brought their final projected count to just 81 seats, leaving them trailing far behind the BJP’s overwhelming majority. The remaining political parties were reduced to mere spectators in this election. The Congress party managed to win 2 seats, while Humayun Kabir’s AJUP also secured 2 seats. Meanwhile, the CPI(M) and the AISF were seen leading in just one single seat each.

Rejection Acts as a Narrative Shielding Ploy

Banerjee’s firm refusal to accept the loss, paired with her massive accusations aimed at core constitutional bodies, brings up a very familiar pattern of behavior often seen in Indian politics after a major loss. It is completely normal for unexpected election results to invite questions and scrutiny. However, when looking at the sheer size and widespread nature of the BJP’s win across West Bengal—a victory that spanned across various different regions, districts, and voter demographics—it clearly points to a massive, state-wide shift in the political climate, rather than just a handful of isolated, localized irregularities.
